Not another 'bath & bodyworks'
Pancakes for breakfast? Yes please! Although again still no fried eggs, I have failed to get a fried egg each day either due to lack of fried eggs or the fried egg greediness of other people! I think you can tell but I’m still a bit sore about the whole fried egg situation. We head up to the room grab our (very heavy) bags, make sure we’ve got everything and then head down to the lobby to check out. We then walk to the main square, watch the trumpets play on the hour at St Mary's Basillica and with sad faces leave the heart of Krakow for the final time. We walk 10 minutes to Krakow main shopping centre, (which is where the main train station is located) We still have a bit of time so we look around the shopping centre (which is huge) Ashleigh finds a ‘Bath and body works’ of course and we look around a few shops but decide we underestimated how much our feet were hurting and how heavy our bags are now, so just go buy our train ticket and head to the airport (even though it’s a little bit earlier than needed). Buying the tickets was easy and we head up to our platform, it’s about 5 minutes till our train is due and we notice everyone who has suitcases and looks like they are going to the airport is now suddenly rushing down the stairs. We then realise that they had changed the platform so we just about make it across and board the train.
The Airport
From Krakow centre to the airport is literally around 20/25minutes on the train and is super easy, so we wait to check in and then head through security. The airport is pretty small and also very chaotic. While waiting to board I discover 'salted caramel KitKat chunkys' which were delicious! Not long after they call for speedy borders and most of the waiting room stand up and start queueing. Ashleigh is convinced that this is just speedy borders and we are in the wrong queue however any time I've ever been with EasyJet, there’s only ever been about one speed the border, so we start to queue. We go through fine, get on the small bus that drives us about 100m to the plane and find our seats. We are literally right in the back row of the plane. There is a baby right in front of us however he was very good the whole flight, any time he started crying Ashleigh would pull a silly face and he would calm down. The flight was a little bit bumpy on takeoff but otherwise pretty smooth and not long after we were landing in Gatwick.
The sandwich
We were getting the train from the airport to Eastbourne and while waiting we spoke to a lovely lady who had just been on holiday to Sardinia and she was showing me photos of the beach and accidentally started showing me photos of her cat. We then have to board a super busy train home to Eastbourne where we didn’t get a seat it was absolutely packed and we were very hungry. While we was at the airport Ashleigh wanted to buy a cheese ploughman's sandwich...
Me: "you won't eat that babe"
Ashleigh: "yes I will"
Me: "no you won't"
Ash: "yeah I will... I can pick out the bits out"
Me: "YOU WONT EAT IT"
Ash: "YES I WILL!"
I buy the sandwich, on the super busy train while we are standing up she opens it.... "oh I can't eat this" We arrive in Eastbourne get picked up by Ashleigh's dad and make our way home. Kraków you’ve been such a welcome surprise, from the moment we arrived we felt safe, the architecture was stunning, the food was awesome, the history was fascinating, the commuting was easy and we have absolutely fallen in love with the city. We will be back....
